IV · The Family Steward

An AI agent purpose-built for King Alfred Academy.

Not a generic tutor. Focused on literature, language, and mathematics — the CLT's core content areas.

The Steward generates lesson plans, discussion questions, and printable materials for every Common Library text. It works alongside a family's chosen curriculum, not in place of one.

It defaults to printed resources and actively encourages books, nature, rest, and unhurried learning. Screens are a tool, not the destination.

And it improves as the community grows. Every family's experience makes it better for every other family.

Lesson plans

For every Common Library text and every CLT-aligned subject.

Printable first

Defaults to PDF worksheets, copywork, and read-aloud guides.

Within our convictions

Will not stray from the canon and the covenant.

Family-led

Parents see every conversation. The Steward serves the household.

V · The Common Library

The great books, held in common.

King Alfred Academy families are united by a shared pursuit of education grounded in the great books of the Western tradition. Many families will naturally choose to read the same works together: Shakespeare, Austen, Homer, Augustine, Dante, Milton, the Psalms, the church fathers.

These texts are in the public domain. The Steward provides full teaching scaffolding for every title. Nothing is mandated from above — families and Houses choose together, guided by the CLT Author Bank and their own community.

Foundational materials, included.

The Academy produces its own: phonics, arithmetic, copywork, logic and rhetoric guides, poetry anthologies, and speech collections. All included in membership.

Less than any classical curriculum package.

And for Texas families, TEFA covers it entirely.
